Here at Results Repeat, we know a thing or two about search engine optimization. And, we know how to help businesses of all sizes claim—and maintain—their spot on the first page of Google and other search engines.
We’ll be the first to admit that SEO isn’t ‘rocket science’. However, there is a science to it, and as many business owners will tell you, experiments don’t always have positive results.
Because our mission is, quite bluntly, to save companies and organizations from bad marketing (and blown budgets), we are always seeking more efficient and cost-effective ways to make good marketing accessible. So much so, that we often liken ourselves to Trader Joe’s, a company that successfully commoditized “affordability”.
We made the decision to provide two very specific services to a business sector that we felt could greatly benefit from mid-priced SEO and web design services: salons and spas. And our value proposition (aka better digital marketing for salons & spas and more ‘butts in the chair”) has received a positive response. Knowing that small business owners, in particular, get jerked around by digital marketing companies that over promise, this doesn’t surprise us.
Rooting for the underdog is a part of our business philosophy, but larger, more established salons and spas can also reap rewards from a revised digital marketing strategy that prioritizes SEO. We know because we’ve put those strategies in place and we’ve seen the results.
Building a vertical within the health and beauty sector wasn’t in our original business plan, but with personal experience seeking salon and spa services, our team came to the collective conclusion that this is one of the most competitive industries out there.
Modest margins, fickle clients, and the saturation… Well, let’s just say, if you’re seeking a haircut, blowout, brow wax or beard styling, chances are you’ll have several choices in a 1-mile radius.
So how does a salon stand out from the crowd?
That’s a question we hear a lot.
While word-of-mouth is never a bad way to be recognized, it requires a loyal customer base that is willing to wrangle friends and coworkers into “trying” their salon or stylist. We don’t have an exact ratio of conversion on this, but it is safe to assume that the bulk of a salon’s new clients are NOT coming from WOM marketing.
As is the case for most businesses these days, these potential clients are hanging out on computers or mobile devices, typing and clicking their way to the services they need personally and professionally. The big question we ask salon owners is, “Where will you be when they’re searching for the top salons/stylists in their neighborhood or city?”
If a salon or spa is not showing up on the first page of Google or other search engines, chances are, they won’t be anywhere in sight. This is where Salon Search Party comes in.
Top of page is top of mind.
A more reliable tactic for attracting new clients—aka getting more “butts in the chair”—is online domination. Sure that sounds a bit dramatic, but the reality is, clearing the path to your website—and your brick and mortar location—starts with consistently showing up in the ‘top ten’ search results.
Forget whether or not you’re selling anything online; most web searches are performed to locate brick-and-mortar local businesses. Skimp on optimization and you risk not being found at all. Especially as most people don’t read past about the top 5 results.
SEO is not the same as pay-per-click advertising (PPC) or social media marketing. It’s a strategic selection of words and phrases most likely to be searched by potential clients and customers seeking a variety of services in close geographic proximity.
Identifying these words and phrases and then optimizing your website by regularly tweaking each page to show up for those selected keywords, significantly improves your chances of appearing on the first page of Google and other targeted search engines.
How does this translate to salons and spas?
Within all of the industries we serve, we have found, as have our clients, that impactful optimization is the most cost effective way to drive qualified, ongoing traffic to their businesses. And, to afford them the time and energy to take care of the existing clients/customers they’ve worked so hard to attain.
And because we want all of our clients to look their best when new visitors find their them online, we offer different levels of website design to accommodate a range of marketing needs and budgets. We’ve shaved these costs down even more for salons and spas.
Though we won’t turn down a fully custom web design project, our primary goal is to provide affordable designs for clients with limited budgets.
Image matters. (Especially for salons and spas.)
We don’t just slap a cookie-cutter site together; we create an attractive design that reflects your brand and your clients, personalized with your logo, colors, photographs and talking points. For salons and spas in particular, we know variety is the spice of life and that ‘options’ are a form of self-expression. Just as you like to stay ahead of trends, so do we. Our responsive WordPress design library will never be Plain Jane or go out of style.
Our team does more than make you look good, though. We make sure that your salon or spa, or any business, gets seen across the web—over and over again.
You want the best for your clients. So do we. Whether you’re working with us as a Results Repeat or Salon Search Party client, we help business owners like you obtain and leverage the very best digital marketing at a price point that won’t make you want to pull your hair out.
